This week, we will be discussing the topic of workplace communication. In a company, effective communication between employees and supervisors is important. Some people believe that employees should communicate with supervisors daily to report on what's happening with their tasks; others think that communication with supervisors should be less frequent or only occur when facing a big problem. So, which way do you think is more beneficial for employees? Why?

I believe that daily communication between supervisors and employees would greatly benefit the employees. By chatting regularly, supervisors can truly understand what is happening with the employees' tasks and make necessary adjustments. This communication can help employees grow in their jobs.

I think less frequent communication with a supervisor is better. Daily feedback can sometimes hurt your confidence, especially if it's negative. Less frequent communication can actually make employees happier, more confident, and allow them to focus more on their work.

  • In my view, daily communication between supervisors and employees should be encouraged. This perspective supports Mike's belief that such communication can significantly contribute to employees' professional growth. I would like to further argue that regular communication helps build a stronger relationship between new employees and their supervisors. Frequent interactions foster a sense of trust and support, enabling new employees to feel more secure and valued in their roles. This connection encourages open dialogue, where employees are more comfortable seeking guidance and feedback. Ultimately, daily communication not only accelerates skill development but also cultivates a positive and collaborative work environment.

While Kate pointed out that daily feedback can sometimes hurt confidence, especially if it's negative, she overlooked that daily feedback doesn’t have to be negative. Constructive and positive feedback can boost employees' confidence and morale. Celebrating small wins and acknowledging efforts can create a positive work environment.

All in all, daily communication between supervisors and employees should be promoted.
