Should teachers encourage students to have class discussion ?

I agree that teachers should encourage students to have class discussions for two reasons.

Firstly, class discussions enhance critical thinking skills. For example, when students debate and analyze different perspectives on a topic, they learn to think critically and form their own opinions. This helps them become more informed and engaged learners.

Secondly, class discussions improve communication skills. For instance, when students actively participate in discussions, they practice expressing their thoughts clearly and listening to others' ideas. This not only helps them become better speakers but also better listeners, which is essential for success in both academic and professional settings.
