Secondly, universities have limited resources and spaces, so it's practical to allocate these to students who have shown they can make the most of them. Take, for example, competitive programs like medicine or law, where good professors are limited, and they should allocate their time to students who have mastered the basics instead of wasting their time answering simple questions.
