Should students have a one-year vacation before they attend universities?

I disagree with the statement that students should have a one-year vacation before they attend universities.

Firstly, taking a one-year break can lead to the loss of basic knowledge. For example, students might forget important formulas and theories that they learned in high school, which would then require them to spend valuable time relearning this information when they return to their studies.

Secondly, financially, a one-year gap can be quite burdensome. Whether a student chooses to travel or volunteer, they will incur significant expenses for living and transportation. This can be a considerable financial strain, especially for students who may not have the means to support such an extended period away from formal education.
