Is it a good idea for the university to close the campus computer lab because most students have their own laptops?

I don't think closing the campus computer lab is a good idea for two reasons.

Firstly, not all students can afford their own laptops. Some students may have older models that aren't suitable for certain software or tasks, while others may need access to specific programs that are only available on university computers. Closing the lab would limit their access to these resources.

Secondly, the computer lab serves as a collaborative space where students can work together, exchange ideas, and receive help from peers or lab assistants. Additionally, some courses may require group work or lab sessions that are best conducted in a shared space with university-owned computers.
