This week we will be focusing on an instructional approach called project-based learning. In traditional teaching, teachers largely give lectures and ask students questions about the lecture material. But in project-based learning, students acquire and demonstrate knowledge and skills by working on a course-related project, typically with other students. Before our class tomorrow, I'd like your opinion: Do you think project-based learning is more effective at promoting learning than the traditional lecture method? Why or why not?

I find the traditional lecture method to be more effective because the information students need to know is given to them directly. In project-based learning, students need to find their own topics and rely on themselves to get information and they might end up missing important information about the topic.

I think the process of project-based learning is more effective at helping you develop useful skills, especially interpersonal skills that can be helpful in your career. You can even list the projects you have worked on when applying for a job, which should impress potential employers.
